The Kilbride family recently acquired the Savanna site within the Mountainlands Estate, and they are thrilled to be owners in Mountainlands Nature Reserve. Their passion lies in conservation and rewilding areas with indigenous fauna. In 1994, they established the Spirit Foundation (http://www.spiritf.org) to advance their philanthropic interests. Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, the foundation remains dedicated to education, community support, and wildlife conservation.
Beyond their philanthropic endeavours, the Kilbride family is actively involved in wealth management, hedge funds, and investment banking. Their interests span across South Africa, the UK, Mauritius, and Australia.
Having explored over 30 African countries, the family unequivocally declares that “Mountainlands is the most beautiful place on the African continent.” Professor Ian Kilbride (http://www.iankilbride.com) reflects on their decision: “Nico and Delia Oosthuizen’s passion and commitment convinced us that Mountainlands should be our home – a piece of an older, wilder Africa.”
At the 2024 Annual General Meeting, Ian Kilbride was elected as a trustee of the Mountainlands Estate Owners Association.
The Kilbride family and Spirit Foundation contributed the beautiful new big game enclosures to Mountainlands. You can read about it following this link: https://www.mountainlands.co.za/new-big-game-bomas/
