Last week a young, male leopard was relocated from the Loskop valley area to Mountainlands Nature Reserve. Once caught and sedated he received a health check from the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency before being transported to the reserve. He was already awake upon arrival and safely released, scrambling for cover in the shrubs.

The leopard release is great news! Well done to the management team.
In which area of the park has it been released and has it got a collar to follow its movements?

It was release in the south-western corner of the reserve but they tend to move quite widely and could eventually settle almost anywhere. This one was not collared as it happened a bit too quick.
