Bushbuck locking horns

Observing bushbuck sparring will be pretty wild, but luckily, while we were not watching a trail camera was. These two bushbuck (Tragelaphus scriptus) rams were having a heated argument and with horns as sharp as knives they could easily have injured each other. Luckily most fights are a ritualistic display where young adult males may challenge other and older territorial males to replace them in order to take over their home ranges. Or territorial males may initiate combat when challenged by a younger male.
